Lovelight Recap

For the last weekend in August, Camp Ramblewood in Darlington, MD became something magical: yoga camp.


This was the first year of this brand new yoga and arts festival and it definitely left me hungry for more!

Highlights of the lineup were headstand class with Dharma Mittra, tons of yoga class offerings and music, as well as opportunities for meditation, chanting, learning, dancing, and healing. But the true highlight for me was meeting some amazing, beautiful souls and making connections with a like-minded community!

The festival organizer graciously invited me to present a workshop during the festival and as I have been advertising ad infinitem, I got to achieve a personal goal way earlier than I ever dreamed. I had the privilege of presenting a 1-hour workshop on yoga and eating disorders as part of the Healing Village. A huge thanks to the souls who came out to support me and share their ideas and experiences. I will never forget this hour!


I owe a huge debt of gratitude to both Wynne Paris and to  the generous, wonderful Nuit Moore for helping me make this idea a reality! 

Other fun memories I will treasure: relaxing on the lawn with the Pop Up Yoga girls, admiring crystals and stones with my dear friend Justin from my YTT class, and tuning out of the hum and buzz of city life to breathe some fresh (if hot and dusty) air.

I also got to meet a bunch of sweet new friends and refill the well of my inspiration through awesome conversations and meditations with and the crew from Iskon of DC. If you ever get a chance to experience their Gita Walk, I definitely recommend it! And I walked away with beautiful meditation beads and a ton of reading material.

All in all, an awesome experience - next year I'd love to get the full experience by camping as well (although, um, maybe we can start with glamping...)
