Well, guys, I am all moved in...technically. All of my stuff is at the new house, but about 80% of it is still in boxes. After spending the last 10 days or so packing, moving, and cleaning, I was overdue for a quick overnight escape from Baltimore.
For this edition of Ohm Away From Home, I didn't go terribly far - just about an hour from Baltimore in North Beach, MD. Though it's only a couple of counties away, it feels like a totally different state - love a cute beach town with friendly businesses, a boardwalk to stroll, and of course, a super lovely brand new yoga studio called GROW!
GROW is located on Bay Avenue in North Beach, right next to Sweet Sue's bakery (which I totally did visit immediately after!) The little shopping center there has a nice parking lot so parking is no issue. Bonus: the boardwalk is just a few steps away!
GROW is on MindBody so booking classes is easy if you already have an account. I paid a reasonable $13 to drop-in for one class, but newcomer pricing packages are also available.
What Made It Special
One of my best friends is a member at GROW and has been raving about the space, the classes, and the people, so I was stoked to check it out. I was not disappointed! The space is clean and bright, full of sunlight and gorgeous plants.
The practice room was a great size and was stocked with plenty of high-quality props - which is always appreciated! The adorable Kellie Conrad greeted us and taught the 9:00 Saturday morning Movement I class. It was the perfect hour flow to start my Saturday off; Kellie was warm and relatable, and I was totally digging her playlist.
Why I'd Go Back
Though it's small, GROW offers a pretty wide selection of classes - kundalini, yin, gentle, and kids' yoga classes are all on the schedule as well as beginner and intermediate yoga. Heather is a big fan of the kundalini classes there so I'd love to come back and check that out sometime!
If you're in Baltimore - and if getting to the beach isn't in the cards next weekend - I highly recommend checking out Pop Up Yoga Baltimore's Sunday morning classes at Canton Waterfront Park - and check out the Events page for other upcoming local classes.
